Setting up FTP

ftp stands for "File Transfer Protocol". You use an ftp program to transfer web pages from your PC to your web server, or vice versa.

Using ftp is not difficult once you get used to it, but we recommend that you get a friend to help you the first time.

Begin by downloading and installing a ftp program. One popular program is WS FTP. Another is Leech ftp

Use the following settings to connect to your web space:

Host Name / Address : ftp.alberonsystems.co.uk
User ID : Your Alberon Systems user name
Password : Your Alberon Systems password.

You should now see the files on your PC on the left, and your web space on the right. Select files on your PC and click on the arrow to transfer them.
