Setting up FTP

(Note: If we have not yet moved you to our new server, please click here to view the old FTP instructions)

We recommend that you print this page out.

ftp stands for "File Transfer Protocol". You use an ftp program to transfer web pages from your PC to your web server, or vice versa.

Using ftp is not difficult once you get used to it, but we recommend that you get a friend to help you the first time.

Begin by downloading and installing a ftp program. Some popular programs are FileZilla and WS FTP

Use the following settings to connect to your web space:

Host Name / Address : ftp.yourdomain.com
User ID : Your account user name
Password : Your account password.

You should now see the files on your PC on the left, and your web space on the right. Select files on your PC and click on the arrow to transfer them.

Good luck!
