Skills:

• Excellent skills in programming large to small scale applications with skills in each stage of the program lifecycle from defining the problem and designing a feasible solution through to testing and documentation. I enjoy solving problems as thoroughly yet efficiently as possible. I am creating a large software application for the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) whist at university for the design of Interactive TV services.
  
• Highly experienced in web-site design using web authoring software as well as advanced HTML coding, I have particular experience of Macromedia Dreamweaver MX though am also happy working with a simple text editor. For dynamic web-site development, I am skilled in the use of PHP, Perl, Java Script and MySQL. Examples of web-sites I have worked on are available.
  
• Used to designing and using complex relational database systems having had experience in database design for a good range of clients such as an estate agent. Skilled in writing and using complex SQL queries to aid database design and use.
  
• An advanced user of Office Software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access 2003 as well as being proficient in the use of OpenOffice.org
  
• Good general computer skills such as hardware maintenance, and setting up and wiring small networks. I can provide network support, backup critical data, or provide virus recovery services. Excellent at adapting to the use of new and unfamiliar software.
  
• I am also a good at technical writing as well as interacting with clients in order to best understand their needs and requirements.

General Information:

I live in Oxford, England. I'm happy to undertake projects anywhere in the UK. For practical and personal reasons I particularly welcome web design / development projects based in Oxford and the surrounding area ( Kidlington, Banbury, Thame, Witney, Bicester, Faringdon etc) I'm also happy to undertake work in areas such as London, Reading, Swindon, Milton Keynes, Winchester, Salisbury, Newbury, Romsey, Southampton, Bristol, Bath and Weybridge.

Autumn 2005: I am currently available to undertake freelance work up to 2 days per week.
